Renowned action-adventure game gets a physical release on Nintendo Switch™ and PlayStation® 4
An ancient evil has returned — and it’s taken tangible form! Independent development studio WayForward, along with Universal Games and Digital Platforms, today announced that physical versions of The Mummy Demastered, the fan-favorite horror-action-adventure video game, will be available to preorder from publisher Limited Run Games for Nintendo Switch™ and PlayStation® 4 starting on October 23, 2020. Enthusiasts and newcomers alike won’t want to miss the opportunity to add the title to their libraries, either as a standard edition ($34.99) or as a collector’s edition ($54.99), which includes the game, a soundtrack CD, a commemorative non-functioning retro cartridge, and a classic-style box. A vinyl double LP containing the game’s original soundtrack ($34.99) will be offered as well. All products will be available as open pre-orders at www.limitedrungames.com for four weeks.
Heavily requested as a physical release since its digital launch in 2017, The Mummy Demastered throws players into a 16-bit-inspired battle against the undead in a 2-D, non-linear, action-packed adventure. As elite agents in the monster-hunting Prodigium organization, players must use a variety of weapons, upgrades, and magical artifacts to defend mankind against the supernatural hordes of Princess Ahmanet. But beware —Ahmanet commands legions of zombies, insects, plague-ridden vermin, and worse…and if players aren’t careful, they’ll be the next souls in Ahmanet’s thrall.
Described by GameSpot as a title that “brims with challenging old-school charm” and by Nintendo Life as “a polished, accomplished, and satisfying adventure,” The Mummy Demastered is currently available for download on Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation® 4, Xbox One, and PC with an ESRB rating of E10+.
