Hello friends, fans, and game industry folks! WayForward would like to formally invite you to join us in celebrating 25 years as an independent game developer. Voldi Way founded the company in 1990, (naming it in honor of Sci-Fi writer Douglas Adams) with the goal of building a one-of-a-kind studio where passionate people could create great games together. A quarter century and countless titles later, Voldi’s entrepreneurial spirit still drives WayForward forward. From Fun Pack to Pirate’s Curse, we’ve poured every ounce of our energies into making memorable characters, music and stories while always putting game play first. Throughout 2015 we would like to celebrate with you in a variety of ways, including new titles featuring familiar characters and even a few new faces. And as you might expect we’ll throw the number 25 around now and again, just to get a cheap laugh. Online malaysia casino selection has grown again in 2021. Malaysian players looking for the best online malaysia casino can go to https://onlinemalaysia.casino/ and play their favourite online casino games.
Speaking of cheap, our first (and probably best) way to kick things off is by putting as many of our “fan favorite” titles on sale, with many being reduced to a mere 25% of the original price. A sale like this requires coordination by many of our partners worldwide so prices and dates are subject to change. Check back here for up to the minute details. Our current list of titles participating in the WayForward 25th Celebration:

**EDITED 3/10/2015 Please accept our sincere apologies for the misprint on March 2nd about the price of Mighty Flip Champs! DX. It is free for Playstation Plus users. This was a miscommunication on our part. A sale like this requires coordination by many of our partners worldwide so prices and dates are subject to change. Thank you for your patience and understanding
Here’s to another 25 years for you guys. Keep it up.
The work you guys create is like no other, I’ve yet to find a developer that feels more “right” to me than you guys! It’s always a treat to play a WayForward game in my book, I look forward to the next 25 years of them I’ll play, and then the 25 years after that.
Congratulations and Thank You for all the great effort and love you put in making those games.
Congratulations on 25 years of great games! Thank you
TY WF, and stay spiffin’ : )
Congratulations WayForward and thank you for giving us great games. Cheers to 25 years!! 😀
Any chance we’ll see discounts on Mighty Milky Way and Mighty Flip Champs in the eShop? They’re technically DSiWare, but are still listed, and as a fan of your work, a discount would go a long way toward making these older titles appealing purchases.
Great work in those 25 years! Keep it up and congratulations!
Mighty Flip Champs! DX still comes up as $5.99 for me. Am I missing something?
@Binarian Unfortunately we were unable to get those as sale items.
@Luna The sale for Mighty Flip Champs! DX doesn’t start until the 3/10. All sale dates are posted above 😀
Thanks for being around and awesome for so long! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for WayForward.
I got excited about mighty flip champs being free on psn =D
Then I noticed its north america only, not Europe 🙁
Well then, I guess I will be picking up Pirate’s Curse for Wii U next week. :3
Sweetness! 😀 I got $20 in eShop money three days ago for my birthday, and I’d been intending to get Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse anyway for my 3DS; NOW I can get Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse AND Mighty Switch Forces 1 and 2, and still have two dollars left over!
Happy birthday, WayForward! 😀 Next week, I shall have ALL the Shantae games — well, except for ½-Genie Hero, but I backed that on Kickstarter, so it almost counts! 🙂
Out of curiosity, what games did you guys make way back in 1990 to ’98? I want to find and play all of your games; I’ve never found one that I didn’t like. 😀
Hey guys..? Advertising days beforehand that one of your games is going to be free on PSN only to have the day come and it indeed be free on PSN but only for PlayStation Plus members? Not cool. At all.
It sucks that Mighty Flip Champs DX is only free for Playstation Plus members when you guys never advertised it as such. I was looking forward to playing it too, but this just leaves a sour taste of your company’s advertising. 🙁
Sounds like a lot of us were disappointed by Sony restricting this promotion to only Playstation Plus members, but even without Sony’s earnest participation this is still an awesome sale!
We can still support Wayforward by buying their games on other platforms, and maybe next time Sony won’t make it contingent on Playstation Plus.
Mighty Flip Champs DX is only available to PS Plus members now. What’s going on? Did someone goof?
If not, this is clearly false advertising unless you’re willing to distribute download codes.
Actually, that alone is possibly enough to make me not support them again. Bait and switch like that is not right. Ever.
I love you guys, but that was SUPER lame. I had the date circled on my calendar and kept checking back every hour.
… Only to discover that it is not free and that I wasted all that time. What gives?
Yepp, count me in the cam aggrevate by this BS move. Also had been waiting for today only to find out this offer wasn’t for all PSN accounts A LOT of people who have PS3/Vita/PSP do not have PS+. Became more necessary with the PS4, which ironically is not even part of the sale. Nice way to push people away from following your future efforts.
Like others, it shows Playstation Plus only…

Wow, way to go guys- ******* and moaning over something that’s free. With all the free games every month and other perks, you’re kind of a moron if you don’t have a PS+ account anyway, and deserve nothing. Whiners.
Sorry @THE_Ness. We’re moaning because it’s not free. You had to have paid for PS+. I’d be more understanding if a requirement also was in place on iOS, Wii or DS to have some kind of special restriction. But in this case, it’s ONLY Playstation users that have to have special membership. All the other sales and freebies are open to everyone who has that platform. I imagine it was probably Sony who pushed it to be only for PS+. Either way, kind of a bad move compared to other platforms in the sale.
@Sorsha-WF
What really ticks me off aside from the error is that the game has essentially been completely cut off from non-PS+ users. If you had added an alternate option, say 75% off for the game for non-members to continue the sale trend, I would’ve been okay with that.
Bait and switch SUCKS, yo!
Heads up if you do get Mighty Flip Champs! DX on PSN, it will have an expiration date on it so if your PS+ subscription expires, you lose access to the game until you sign up for PS+ again.
Wii U switch force games are not reduced by 75%. They’re showing up as 2.49 a piece.
@prezvegeta Uh, aren’t they normally $10? That’s 75% off.
5.99 is what wii u says.
@prezvegeta
mighty switch force: hyper edition is 9.99
mighty switch force 2 is 5.99
so you’re partially correct
Mighty switch force is reduced by 75%
However Mighty switch force 2 isn’t reduced by 75%(it should be 1.50 like the 3DS versions)
People from the social media department (myself included) are checking internally now to see what is up!
Ok, thanks @sanchoco!
Yeah, Mighty Switch Force 2 for Wii U doesn’t show at 75% off. Gonna wait to see if it’s fixed so I can grab it to go with my new copy of Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Edition. =)
The Mighty Switch Force sale on Wii U eShop should be fixed now. Enjoy!
Still doesn’t show 1.49 for Mighty Switch Force 2 Wii U. Probably takes a while for the eshop to correct it.
Okay! I’ve reset it a few times. Looks like it works here: http://bit.ly/WF25Sale
Sorry for the wait! There are so many doors to go through when getting these sales to work. 😀
Awesome! Got it now. If you click on Mighty Switch Force! 2 for Wii U in that link it shows 2.49 for some reason but it’s 1.49 when seeing it and checking out through the eshop on the Wii U. Also Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse for Wii U shows full price when you click the game in that link but it’s the sale price when seen in the eshop on Wii U. Must be a bug with the Nintendo website. Thanks for the fix!
Shame that Mighty Flip Champs! DX is PS+-only, though I did get it for a couple friends. Already had it m’self, though Nintendo oughta get around to letting DSiWare and such either go on sale or change price bracket. Been holding off on Mighty Milky Way for the time being…
Did get Mighty Switch Force! 2 on my New 3DS (stable 3~D~), and the Hyper Drive Edition on Wii U (though Incident .09 especially trumped me up in timing enemies into launch blocks; are their physics different, or some kinda Wii U latency issue, ’cause I had a much easier time of it on 3DS). Might pass (or hell, sink) on MSF2 on Wii U…unless there’s a chance of a HDE-update for it? Eh? Eh!?
As for everything else, either grabbed it already or am passing for now. If Shantae (GBC) was in here, though, you know I wouldn’t resist. Perhaps Xtreme Sports, too…
GBC Shantae would be awesome. Never saw many Game Boy games in my area growing up and it was before buying stuff online really became the norm so never saw a copy. Got Risky’s Revenge on steam and would love for Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse to come out on that as well.
@TJF588
Nintendo eShop no longer allows publishers to alter their DSiWare prices. So there will not be any more sales on DSiWare.
That’s a crying shame, but in plumbing Nintendo Life found that the S:RR DC is coming to eShops! That’s great! If the Mighty games were to make it, too… Ah, but on that note, grabbed MSF2 on Wii U anyway, since I’m a bit high off of a Miiverse user helping me with my timing issues, by fiddling with my TV’s refresh settings. Ah, the wonders of modern technology…
Thanks for the wii u sales. I purchased Shantae: Pirates curse and swap force 2 ( i already have the 1st one ^_^).
Barring the issue with PSN, I’d say this was a good sale overall. It’s too bad about Nintendo freezing the prices for DSiWare, but I realize that that’s not your guy’s fault. I’m also glad to see that access to Mighty Flip Champs DX has been restored to nonmembers on PSN, though I advise caution when dealing with Sony in the future and putting your foot down if the PS-plus exclusive option is proposed again; it’s technically not a discount (I scour the PSN’s Discount list twice a week and it was never mentioned) and I’d guess that you guys would end up getting more of the negative press because of it once again.
That being said, I would’ve taken part in the sale on the Wii U and 3DS consoles if I didn’t already have the games. They are fun to play.
On a different note, it would be nice if your PC games also had Mac and possibly Linux compatibility.
